I want to personally thank risend and dweezel for their patience and assisting me in making this guide possible. I died five times because of my stupidity and lack of awareness and other natural causes (12-14 hours straight gaming can cause your brain to slow down). Anyway, without them, it would have taken me longer to complete this lengthy guide....I don't want to create a similar post like this anymore.

Thank you risend for standing watch while I dozed off, you're such a sweetheart!

#13901 NOOB PRIEST! FU!

Posted by HarrieAlexis on 06 August 2013 - 10:46 AM

Why is it every time pt died, is it always the priest to blame?

Noob priest! *insert curse here*

Cmon man, as a knight, I commit mistakes too leading for my pt to die. And sometimes wizards as well!

And hey! There is lag too!

Not to mention, some of the priest are real lady. Be a man! Do you speak that way to a lady? My gf's a priest and she get this all the time. She feels bad. Most of the rude words are coming from tanks who CANT even tank. So when they die, Fuck you priest!

Party wouldn't be a party without priest. And we won't be able to stay for a long period of time without them so they deserve a respect. ;)

#14844 To New and Some old ROVU Players Be Careful with Scammers

Posted by Zelrant on 13 August 2013 - 08:18 PM

DISCLAIMER: My intentions are good I just wanna help people who are unfamiliar and naive to evil things around them. I am not trying to give ideas to people so please people don't do this don't get any ideas from this... if anyone gets ideas from this and victims blame me then blame the producers of Olympus has Fallen/White House Down and other movies who have shared ideas on how to penetrate the White House once that happens too... LOL

I used to a super active in the Online Ragnarok versions so i'm kind of familiar a bit with most of the things that go on in Ragnarok MMORPGs... But as I played ROVU i saw that it is really different from the Online one... but there is one thing that will surely be the same...
The People/Population/Players

The most enjoyable part in any MMORPG is that you get to interact with different kinds of people, and here in ROVU you not only get to interact with people of the same country like some MMORPGs but almost the World... there are 7 billion people in the World and almost 2 billion use the internet and about 10-20% maybe of that play MMORPGs and that's still a lot... and I'm estimating about 30k people use ROVU(based on likes on fb) and about 8.5k per server and that's still a lot...

With 8.5k people you'll get to interact with so many kinds of people you'll meet nice people, rich people, honorable people but then there are those who are evil, desperate and lazy... can't really blame some of them for taking the easy way out, since i know some people use ROVU as a means to get real life cash...

(Optional) ALL INFO ABOVE THIS IS JUST AN INTRO
IF YOU WANT TO SKIP THE BORING INTRO JUST READ THE THINGS BELOW THIS:

And now after that long and boring intro i'll get to the point... i'll warn you about Scammers
playing online Ragnarok i've encountered a lot! there are different styles and here are some that i remember...

1. THE BAIT AND SWITCH ok so the goal in any MMORPG is to get rich/strong etc so you buy things or buy and sell to get rich...  then suddenly a miracle happens someone is selling a card/item that you've been searching for for days and is selling it at an incredibly cheap price and you're so excited that you don't even check the item and just add the zenny thinking that he might change his mind(there are styles to show you that he's not sure about selling it to you) and you press OK twice! and he disappears... and you get a poring r1 card :)
Alternate: A better style for some is to show you the card first then cancel the deal and then put in diff cards...

Lesson: there's a reason why ROVU made you press the ok buttons twice CHECK the item to be sure... especially with Cards

2. THE ACCOMPLICE TECHNIQUE ok so there you are just walking around town checking the prices of the items and looking out for buyers and sellers... you saw someone selling a weird new item for example a Quve Evo Pet(no offense Quve Pets i didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything) at 300k,  ofcourse new players don't know the use of those... then after walking a few you see someone buying a Quve Evo Pet for 500k and you get the idea that you'll profit 200k from that and bought it... then the buyer and seller suddenly disappears...
Lesson: be informed... use search engines and read a few things before even playing... check out forums like this one this really helps a lot especially from shared experiences of players...

3. Ruby Buying - ok so i was really suprised with this one... from my experiences in old online games i would never EVER give my account and password unless i know that guy personally and I know where he lives and trust the guy...but here Ruby Buying in exchange for zennies are abundant and that surprised me cause you'd have to give your account details in order for that to be done... in the Online RO if i did that bye bye to all my equips and zenny :(
I don't exactly get how they do it but with what i've seen it involves buying from them then the transaction doesn't go through...
If you can please avoid this i've seen people getting scammed really hard by this and that'll suck big time since it involves real money... some innocent peope were even banned because of this scam so please be careful out there...

Lesson: avoid giving account infos, this is still the INTERNET anyone can pretend to be anyone here so be extra careful...

4. Forging Scams - i'm also not sure about this but most likely it has something to do with sup forging tools for sure forge. Sup Forging Tools are only gotten from Lucky Boxes nowadays... though older players experienced ruby promos where Warp Portal sold them at a high price... There will be players offering to +7 or +8 your item for a certain fee or zenny... Then you give your newly acquired Evil Wing S then as you give it to them they disappear... since there's no GM here this is not immediately controlled... so be extra careful... SPECIALLY THOSE LEVEL 1 CHARS with random names like hb2il3heb2hb or jbwakdbkaw...it's probably a char created just for scamming people...

Tip: Like Ruby Scams it's better if you know the person personally... or you can see their main characters first so you can base if they are trust worthy or not... e.g. i'd trust iPhantomhives with my equips since he's too rich anyways to scam my equips  :P
Up to you how you can measure trust to people...
before i sold Rhem an item and he gave me high amount of zenny and asked to give the card to his other char, he said he trusted people from the forums... some may judge based on char strength, activity etc but still BE CAREFUL with these kinds of deals this is the INTERNET people anyone can pretend to be anyone! good luck!

Last Reminder: BE EXTRA CAREFUL OF THOSE LEVEL 1 TRADERS/SELLERS they're the ones who have high probabilities of being scammers... of course not all but hey just be careful okay guys?

If anyone has other experiences please feel free to comment and share your experiences here for added knowledge of all... thanks a lot!

Sorry for the long post i hope this was informative... Good Luck guys happy grinding!

#16405 Souken's Wizard Guide

Posted by Souken on 27 August 2013 - 09:18 AM

Introduction

The boring part that no one reads. Anyway, this is a general guide for average players so you don't need to follow my guide exactly and feel free to criticize or help my guide =D

Advantages

  • Can solo depending on monsters and your build.
  • Good for mats hunting depending on monsters and your build.
  • Can hunt GC (Gold Coin).
  • Good at PVP.
  • Have AoE skills.
  • Great damage dealer.
  • Fast leveling in party.

Disadvantages

  • Equips are expensive.
  • Squishy.
  • Dependent on SP potions unless you have good SP recovery.

Stats

INT (Intelligent):

  • Increases Magic Attack. You get 3 Matk per Int but higher Matk% give more bonus.
  • Increases Max SP.

The formula for Matk (Thank to MasterBat) is:

[ [ Character Level + ( Total INT x 3 ) ] x ( 1 + Total Weapon Matk% ) ] + Total Matk from Equips and Cards = Final Matk

Using my character for example, I am currently level 40, Int 73 + 41 (from gears), and with +7 Coin Staff 45%+11.2% = 56.2% (No Card). My final Matk (without Cards) will be:

[ 40 + ( ( 73+41) x3 ) ] x [ 1.562 ] + 11 Matk (from Mage Hat) = 607.68

So, using that formula:

If I put +3 INT Card x 3, my final Matk will be: [ 40 + ( ( 73+50) x3 ) ] x [ 1.562 ] + 11 Matk = 649.86

If I put +15 Mark Card x 3, my final Matk will be: [ 40 + ( ( 73+41) x3 ) ] x [ 1.562 ] + 11 + 45 Matk = 652.68

Therefore, with my current gears, one +3 INT card will increase my final Matk by 3 INT x 3 x 1.562= 14.06, which is less than one +15 Matk card. Even more, you guys may wonder when +3 INT will equal to +15 Matk? By using the previous simple equation you will need a weapon total Matk% to be 67%, 3 x 3 x 1.67= 15.03. So, clearly that with my current gears +15 Matk x3 is a better choice for me.

AGI (Agility):

  • Increases Attack Speed. Useless for Wizard.
  • Increases Accuracy. Let say your Damage range is 80-100 per hit, more AGI will be 81-100 per hit. Don't know exact value.
  • Increases Dodge Rate. Useless for Wizard.

Stats Order: Just go full INT until 99 then rest AGI. You should focus only on damage because in high lvl party you will fuse with tank. Fuse is a trick where the priest and wizard stand in the same spot as the tank so that the one receiving damage is the tank.

Skills

Fire Bolt lvl 1

Upgrade Fire Bolt lvl 3

Meteor Storm lvl 10

Lightning Bolt lvl 1

Upgrade Lightning Bolt lvl 3

Lord of Vermilion lvl 10

Increase SP Recovery lvl 5

Energy Coat lvl 10

I did a long test today (Thanks to ToyotaAltis for helping me) against Kukre (water monsters) with 750 Matk and no water cards. I tested total duration of skill (including casting time), number of hits and damage per hit. I'm going to write total average damage too. This is the result of my test:

Duration: 8 sec Hits: 10 Damage: 800-1000 Total: 9000 MS (Meteor Storm)

Duration: 10 sec Hits: 16 Damage: 600-800 Total: 11200 LoV (Lord of Vermilion)

Duration: 13 sec Hits: 11 Damage: 600-800 Total 7700 SG (Storm Gust)

Now the question is...which is the strongest skill? LoV had higher total damage but duration of skill is 2 seconds longer compared to MS. In order to compare both skills under the same duration we use rule of three (Math), using duration and total, and the result is that both skills deal almost the same damage. But we know that Fire against Water deals 75% damage while Wind against Water deals 100% so we can deduce that Meteor Storm is the strongest skill against all monsters. I don't know which skill is actually stronger against water because damages aren't steady (maybe it will be more clear with higher Matk) but both skills deal almost the same so don't think too much about it :P

Now...which is the second best skill? Since the best leveling spots have water monsters (Skel and Raydric) you will obviously get LoV. Against Dullahan and Raydric use MS and LoV because Dullahan. Against Skel, test it yourself if you should use both skills (If MS deals more damage) or just LoV because like I said, I don't know which skill is actually stronger against water.

By the way...against non water monsters, I don't know which is stronger between LoV and SG because I didn't test it. I don't think I need to do this test for current level cap because I doubt there is a wizard out there who resets his skills based on monster properties. If you do reset your skills depending on monsters/bosses let me know and I'll gladly do the test.

The remaining skill points are up to you.

If you hunt bosses like Loli Ruri, I recommend maxing 2 Bolt skills because she casts AoE like LoV so you need to cast outside of her range (Meteor Storm & Bolt skills).

If you only grind then I recommend SP Recovery to spend less potions and Safety Wall (Need Blue Gemstone) in case of emergency like your tank or priest disconnecting. Fire Wall is also useful, for solo'ing.

Equips

  • Compound your own rank3 cards. If you can compound rank4 cards then go ahead.
  • Craft your own equips. Start aiming for VS parts. Then VVS and so on.

Note: Best means end gear for lvl 75 Wizard. There isn't a better equip for lvl 75.

Great Sorcerer's Hat S ---> Magic Eye S (Best)

Rnfd Magic Coat S ---> VVVS Gaibram/VVS Scout Rb ---> VVVS Lucius (Best)

VVVS Wool Scarf  ---> VVVS Musica ---> VVVS Rider Wing (Best) VVVS Morpheus Shawl is the best but has same int and needs Knight Ornament which isn't available yet

VVVS Durable Shoes ---> VVVS Ebecee Shoes ---> Katrinn Shoes S2 (Best) Same int, more hp, and lots more def/mdef

VS Nadia's Ring ---> VS Betelgeuse ---> VVVS Nymph Ring ---> Magic Ring of Valkyrie (Best) The int8 all5 version, int8 maxhp6% is also pretty good if you got hp cards in accessories and/or shoes/helm

VVVS Mighty Staff ---> Jucid S2 ---> Deadwood S2 ---> Lacryma S2 ---> Cleric Wand S2 (Best)

Dokebi (Evolved) ---> Alice (Evolved) ---> Sohee (Evolved)

Drops

For those who don't know where to get certain gear. All VS is obviously crafted.

Dark Lord ---> Magic Eyes S

Mage Box C ---> Jucid S2, Deadwood S2

Mage Box D ---> Lacryma S2, Cleric Wand S2, Katrinn Shoes S2

Battlefield 10,000 fame points box ---> Magic Ring of Valkyrie

Cards

Don't put worthless cards on expensive equips.

Helm: Mini Demon S (Against Shadow monsters) / Sandman S (Against Water monsters) / Poring S (Against Neutral monster and PVP) / 480HP isnt bad for pvp

Armor: Def9 / Mdef9 / Def7 for cheap armor

Manteau: Agi5 / Def6 is not bad for pvp

Shoe: Sandman S (Against Water monsters) Don't need to get another shoe but you can buy Matk6 for rest of monsters if you want, 480HP is good for pvp

Staff: Gibbet (Against Water monsters) / Mimic (Against Shadow Monsters) / Kukuring (Against Neutral monsters and PVP)

Accesory: HP180 / SP170

This is all for now...I'm too sleepy it's 4:30 am here x.x...well, two more guides to go :D

Helping in-real life is better than helping someone in a game. I'm a nobody and I would rather be a nobody who help behind the shadows rather than a somebody who help just to satisfy his ego. Why do you help?

#9186 Souken's Tank Knight Guide

Posted by Souken on 23 June 2013 - 01:42 AM

Introduction

I decided to write this guide because many people asked for a tank build but don't use the search function. I'm too lazy to write the same stats, skills and equips in each of their thread countless times. I'm pretty busy this month so I'll take my time completing this guide. For now I'll write a rough sketch of my build. This is a general guide for average players so you don't need to follow my guide exactly. By the way, feel free to critize or help my guide =D

Advantages

  • You will never die unless... there is a problem like lag, laggy healer, or you think you are superman.
  • Fast leveling!!!
  • Spend the less amount of zeny between all classes and builds.
  • Don't need HP pots (Healer is your unexhaustable HP pot!).
  • Don't need SP pots unless monster drain your SP like VS Thorn Muka. If you are skillful it won't matter.
  • Can tank Boss/MVP
  • Better chance of getting high FAME in battlefield
  • Hmm... let me think...

Disadvantages

  • Need to be in party.
  • REALLY slow doing GC (Gold Coin) quest. Not recommended until you reset to DPS (Damage per Second) build.
  • Suck at PVP
  • Hmm... can´t think of anything else...

Stats

VIT (Vitality):

  • Increases max HP. The amount of HP you get per VIT increases as you increase your VIT.
  • Reduces Physical Damage received. It's different than Def (Physical Defense) and it reduces more damage.

Note: From my own test, with 60+ VIT you get like 14 HP per VIT, with 90+ VIT you get 18 HP and with 120+ VIT you get 22 HP.

Look like the amount of HP you get per VIT increases by 1 as you increase your VIT by more 8.

SPR (Spirit):

  • Increases Mdef (Magic Defense). You get 1 Mdef per SPR.
  • Increases SP Recovery. Doesn't matter for tank.

Stats Order: Go full VIT until base (without equips) 60 VIT then add the rest of your stat points into SPR until 40.

Skills

Sword Mastery lvl 1

Provoke lvl 1

Shield Training lvl 10

Increase HP Recovery lvl 10

Shield Mastery lvl 10

Endure lvl 10

Note: Tank doesn't need damage skills. Your attack is so slow that you won't do much anyway.

Equips

  • Use any equips you get from quests or drops.
  • Compound your own rank3 cards. If you can compound rank4 cards then go ahead.
  • Craft your own equips. Start aiming for VS parts. Then VVS and so on.
  • You can aim for end gear in one go if you want. You can pretty much tank anything with worthless equips.

Anubis Helm ---> Ares Protective Helm S ---> Frika Helm/Demon Mask/Thors  Vit 8 all 4 / Vit 8 HP330 ---> Final dwarf hat (Best)

Bone Suit ---> VVVS Plate Armor ---> VVVS Clair Suit ---> VVVS Fairy Suit (Best)

Tsurugi ---> VVVS Orcish Sword VVS Haedonggum ---> VVS Mysteltainn ---> Shining Sword Bravery vit14 hp12% (Best)

Shld of Honor S ---> Valkyrie Shield S (Best shield against shadow monsters)

Shld of the Trial S ---> Ahltair Shld S ---> Platinum Defender S ---> Platinum Defender S2

Very Very Vali's Mant. ---> VVS Wild Tail (Best)

VVS Earring ---> VVS Novice Armlet ---> VVS Ancient Earring (Best)

VVVS Blue Boots ---> Vidar Boots S* ---> VVVS Vidar Boots* ---> Wild Boots S2 (Best)

Stapo (Evolved) / Lude (Evolved) Get both they are really cheap and commons

*You might ask why VVVS Vidar Boots is better than Vidar Boots S. Let see each stats:

VVVS Vidar Boots

Level: 48 / DEF: 20 / MDEF: 18

VIT + 7 MDEF + 7

Total Def: 20

Total Mdef: 25

Total HP: 155+ (When you have 120+ VIT you get 22+ HP per VIT)

Vidar Boots S

Level: 48 / DEF: 25 / MDEF: 25

MaxHP + 130 Def + 7

Total Def: 32 (It has higher Def but 7 VIT reduces more damage than 12 Def, I don't know by how much but I tested it once)

Total Mdef: 25 Same amount

Total HP: 130 Less amount

VVVS Vidar Boots is really expensive. Only try to get it if you don't have anything to do or you are rich.

Cards

Don't put worthless cards on expensive equips.

Helm: HP480 / Def6

Armor: Def9 / Mdef9 / All +2 card is also good since you'll be gaining 6 vit and 6 spr

Manteau: Def6 / Flee4 (Flee is way cheaper and better)

Shoe: HP480 / HP360 for VVVS Blue Boots or cheap shoe

Sword: VIT3

Shield: Shadow Resistance 6% for Shld of Honor S / Water Resistance 6% for rest of shields / Neutral Resistance 6% for PVP

Accesory: HP180 / SP160 VVS Earring for cheap accessory

Many people say Def6 for manteau is better but 18 Def reduces what? 5-10 dmg? Ok let just say it reduces 18 dmg. Against your usual monsters you will be receiving mostly 1 dmg but against boss you will receive more than 100 dmg. With 33+ Flee you will be dodging one third of the attacks. If you dodge an attack you receive 0 dmg.

Let compare with a boss that do let say 100 dmg per hit and he does 5 hits (Total dmg: 500):

21 Flee + 18 Def:

21 Flee is like 1/5 chance of dodge so 500 - (500/5) = 400 dmg

400 - (18 Def x 4 Hit) = 328

33 Flee:

33 Flee is like 1/3 change of dodge so 500 - (500/3) = 333 dmg

The first one wins by 5 dmg reduction but it´s just because we considered 18 Def = 18 dmg reduction which isn´t true. Flee shines mostly when a knight is hit by stronger attacks. I remember I took 200+ dmg from Baphomet as tank with good equips already. Imagine the dmg from boss like loli ruli (lvl 60+). There isn´t any point on increasing defense for normal monsters when knight take 1 dmg only.

OMG writing a guide is so long, boring and tiresome!!! I'll leave it here for today.

Oh forgot to write how / where to lvl...hmm will write it later...

#29264 Abyss Dungeon Information

Posted by risend on 26 December 2013 - 11:21 PM

Basic Abyss Dungeon Information Guide
First off, this information guide is a work in progress. People are asking me about this and that in-game so I am just throwing something quick together. I am adding what I know from first hand experience, video recordings, information from other forums (tw and kr), dwarf npc, and second hand information from other players that I can confirm or believe to be more or less correct.

Starting time
There are two starting times.

Novice Dungeon
California time - 3:00am and 6:00pm Pacific DST (daylight savings time) GMT -8.
Philippines time - 7:00pm and 10:00am GMT +8.

Intermediate Dungeon
California time - 3:30am and 6:30pm Pacific DST GMT -8.
Philippines time - 7:30pm and 10:30am GMT +8.

Boss skills
This section is going to need a lot of work, but basically all the bosses do the following:

Throw skill - 1.7-2.2k damage and pushes you away. Can avoid by standing on safety zones.
Pull in skill - 1.7-2.2k damage and pulls you in. Can avoid by standing on safety zones.
Summon mobs - 600-800 damage on average, really hurts if they mob you and you are not a 1hander.
Fear - Can't attack or use skills, you can still pot though. Has a 8s duration. Remove with priest's cure skill lvl2.
Slow - Movement speed reduced to same as when overweight, has a 10s duration
Poison - 800-1.2k DoT (damage over time). Remove with green pot or priest cure skill lvl 1.
AOE Strike - 1-1.6k damage to everyone around him
Stun - Close range stun.

Mob skills
Zombies
Firebolt - Hurts like hell.
Owl howl - Sucks your sp.

Anacondaqs
Naplam beat

Warning text on top of boss
Earthquake - Will cast a poison, get green pot ready.
Roar (Capture) - Fear. Looks to be about a 2s cast time
Recall Assistants - AOE Strike or throw/pull skill.
Expel 2 (Capture) - Summons mobs.

Safety Zones
Green square patches on the ground in the middle of the dungeon are safety zones. There are two of them and they change every so minutes. They are different for everyone. If you stand on it while the boss tries to throw/pull then you can avoid it. It doesn't block poison/fear.

Basic tips
1. Green pots for the poison, I bring 60 and it is about enough for both dungeons.
2. Go to system options and turn "show party only" on. This will only show you the mobs and your party, it helps cut down lag and you can focus on positioning better.
3. If you agro the boss and you can't tank it, just die. Respawn is a few seconds away. Kiting the boss ends up pulling it out of meteor storm's range resulting in a huge decrease in dps.
4. If you are not well-geared, then try to keep dwarf statue on lock down. Nice buffs to yourself and everyone else.
5. If you are in a party and one of your members decides to give up and afk, please kick them. Or if you decide to quit, please leave party. The reason for this is because when the boss focuses on your party, he will chase everyone down until they are dead. That is why the boss keeps running to spawn locations or dwarf statues.
6. If you are afking, please jump off the cliff so you don't accidentally get the dwarf when it is passed around randomly after someone with it dies. Dwarf mode is a significant source of dps.

The big difference between this and novice is that your damage output is dropped to 60%. When you kill the dwarf statue, a global buff is applied on everyone for an extra 20% damage for each dwarf buff. There are two statues on the map. One on the top left and one on the bottom right. You yourself become a dwarf with more damage and defenses, but you can't use skills. So wizards, priests, and tanks, please don't last hit the statue. You can jump off the cliff if you don't want to be a dwarf. Dwarf is given randomly when someone with it dies.

Guild dungeon differences
plw3326l.png

From what I can gather, the buff you get from dwarf gets decreased to 10% from 20%. That and there are four statues instead of 2 to make up for that so locking them down will be harder. Need 4 dps teams to take care of it. It also has a cool maze! Look more ways to die.

When you turn into a dwarf
3 minute duration - Statue respawns 3 minutes after you kill it
3k fixed attack damage
Invulnerable to damage
Cannot use skills
Jump off cliff in order to remove it

Boss Element/Rewards Schedule
The element of the boss in abyss dungeon is different depending on the day. It is a set schedule as far as I am aware. I found it here http://forum.gamer.c...tnum=1&subbsn=5, but I wanted to confirm that our schedule was the same as theirs before I posted about it. Well it looks the same so schedule is below translated by google, confirmed in game, then edited it so it makes sense in english, heh.

The schedule below is for California time. So for people in asia you should use the day before schedule. For example today is Thursday night it will be earth, but that is Friday morning for you guys. And Friday night for you guys will be Friday morning schedule (poison).

Sunday (shadow)
Novice - key piece D / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece D / box piece B

Monday (earth)
Novice - key piece A / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece A / box piece B

Tuesday (poison)
Novice - key piece B / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece B / box piece B

Wednesday (wind)
Novice - key piece C / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece C / box piece B

Thursday (earth)
Novice - key piece A / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece A / box piece B

Friday (poison)
Novice - key piece B / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece B / box piece B

Saturday (wind)
Novice - key piece C / box piece A
Intermediate - key piece C / box piece B

Rewards
Participation in abyss dungeon always yields 1 key, the actual key piece differs depending on the day. Refer to the above schedule. You get box pieces A for Novice Abyss Dungeon and box pieces B for Intermediate Abyss Dungeon. You get no box pieces if you lose.

Number of box pieces rewarded in novice dungeon is determined by how much damage you do.

#1 20
#2 15
#3-5 10
#6-10 9
etc...

***Sunday (shadow) is a little different
#1 24
#2 18
#3-5 12
#6-10 11
etc...

You get 1 piece for just participating I believe. My friend who disconnected a lot only got a few meteor storms off on the boss got 4 pieces, 45k damage done. So it is not too bad as long as you do something. Holy light it or something O.o

Number of box pieces rewarded in intermediate dungeon is determined if you kill the boss or not. Everyone gets S rank, 1 ruby and 10 box pieces B. Even afkers, but be warned that if you afk or have an extra device afk the chances of killing the boss goes down! You are taking a valuable spot in abyss dungeon, please don't be one of those. I think this might be a bug? I sent a ticket in. I would like to see anyone who heals/buffs and kill statues receive high rank though. But if you afk for 20 minutes, yea....

So what is the point of rewards?
To make boxes with the pieces.

What the hell is in the box?
Box has a random chance of yielding a rare headgear of different types (a, b, c, d, e, f). Besides that there are ruby materials (celestials), consumable sets, equip boxes, and style hair coupons AKA trolls.....

How to create box?
Go to composition artificer.
Box A requires 15 box pieces A.
Box B requires 30 box pieces B.
Box C requires 45 box pieces C.

gMNriZsl.png

Box C
There is no guild abyss right now, so the only way to get Box C is by creating it at the composition artificer under special item.

You need:
20 Celestial Hammers
20 Celestial Stones
20 Celestial Sticks
3 Celestial M Tools (ruby shop)

It will produce 30-60 Dwarf Box C Pieces (most of the time it is 45pcs) and you combine that for 1 box c. Then 5 keys to open it. 240 rubies in total to open a Box C if you buy everything from ruby shop. You can get stones and sticks for cheap from other people though. Hammers are pretty rare from boxes.

Opening Boxes
Box A requires 1 dwarf key.
Box B requires 3 dwarf keys.
Box C requires 5 dwarf keys.

efLSp01l.png

Where to get keys
You can buy in ruby shop for 10 rubies or craft one for 50k using key pieces A, B, C, and D at the composition artificer. Key D can only be obtained on Sunday.

Headgears
They are basically split into tier A, B, C, and Final Dwarf headgears. In each tier there are 6 different types (a, b, c, d, e, f) in terms of stats. Tier A, B, and C have the same stat bonuses for each type, but different def/mdef and looks. B and C are exactly the same though. For example, take a look at swordsman's headgear F type.

Tier A (novice)
Frika's Helmet F
LVL60 DEF 38 MDEF 18
ATK +190 ALL +4

Tier B (intermediate)
Demon's Mask F
LVL70 DEF 40 MDEF 20
ATK +190 ALL +4

Tier C (guild)
Thor's Strength F
LVL70 DEF 40 MDEF 20
ATK +190 ALL +4

Final Dwarf headgears
Dwarf headgears gets an upgrade in stats, def, and mdef. In order to create dwarf headgears you need to combine tier A, B, and C helm of the same type. The resulting box will produce a RANDOM final dwarf helm. That means if you combine E helms, you can get A, B, C, D, E, or F final dwarf helm. It is pretty much confirmed that it is random at this point from some experiences and people who played kr.

Tier Epic (dwarf)
Dwarf's BattleHat
DEF 42 MDEF 22
ATK +220 ALL +5

#21468 Guild information

Posted by HarrieAlexis on 05 October 2013 - 05:01 AM

Hello!
Lately, I've been receiving questions regarding guild stuff and I also noticed multiple posts regarding it. So for the benefit of new members (welcome to the world of Lagnaro..nevermind) who are planning to create a guild, here are some FAQs and information.

In iRO, guild experience (in percentage form) is required for the guild to be able to level up. This can be acquired by putting percentage experience TAXES to the members. By this, members will be contributing their personal character experiences to their guild whenever they grind. In ROVU, we dont have guild experience but we do have GUILD POINTS.

Guild Requirements:
500,000z upon creation
1,000,000z for upgrading to level 2
2,000,000z for upgrading to level 3

Points needed:
Level 2: 2,000 gp - Allows you to put *emblem, maximum of 30 members
Level 3: 4,000 gp - maximum of 80 members

Upon creation, you have an initial of 1,000 gp with maximum members of 15. By then, the quest for guild points starts!
*Emblems are given. You are only allowed to select from a series of images. You cannot upload our own emblem. Emblems can be used by multiple guilds.

How it works:
There are various ways of gaining guild points.

1.) Prison of Trials at Lan Forta
(a.) Gates of Trial 1 (level 1-30) - +2 guild points and shining blue box
(b.) Gates of Trial 2 (level 31-40) - +3 guild points and box of trial b
(c.) Gates of Trial 3 (level 41-50) - +5 guild points and box of trial b

*Level shown above do not pertain to your level. It's the floor level you need to accomplish for you to get the points and the boxes.

2.) Recruiting
10 guild points are given for every recruit. So when you create one (1,000 gp) and invite 14 members, you already have 1,140 points with no sweat!

3.) Level-up!
1 level up is equivalent to 2 guild points. So if you recruit a level 1 character and boost it until level 30, you'll be gaining 68 guild points.
10 points for recruiting and 58 points for level up!

4.) Killing MVP bosses, specifically Valkyrie.
Nahh. We have tried this and we got nothing. But this one's good for publicity!

Note: Guild points also increases for every different IP. So active members can boost up your GP but not that noticeable.

Deductions:
1.) 1 death = -1 gp
2.) Kick or leave = -20 gp
3.) Cursing or Disrespecting others = -1000gp (or -1000 reputation points for you. lol. Just remember, you are representing your guild. What you do will reflect on you, your guild and even guildmates. Well, with or without a guild, you should respect everyone!)

Guild Bugs:
1.) Guild Creation : Some players can't create a guild for some reason. It always appear as error.
2.) Guild Master transfer: DO NOT DO THIS. Or else, all of you will become guildmembers. The first guild I created was 'Loki'. We spent almost two full days to upgrade it to level 2. Going back to the first bug, my main character wasn't able to create one so I used a dummy. We already have 1,800+ guild points when I transferred the Guild Master position. Poof. Everyone's Guild Member.

Without a Guild Master, you cannot upgrade your guild even if you reach the point requirement. Sad but I have to disband 'Loki'. Sob

ADDITIONAL:

Just ran a few tests and got it all figured out.

1. You can't create a guild if your name is 10 characters and up. It will always appear as "ERROR"

2. You can transfer the title 'guildmaster' if you are transferring it to someone whose name doesn't exceed 10 characters and up. Otherwise, all of you will become guild members.

To avoid further bugs and error. I created a dummy (again, but permanent this time.) to be the new Guild Master. 'Carnage' guild was born.

MARCH 20, 2014: GUILD TRANSFER BUG HAS BEEN FIXED. I personally tried and tested it.

v32v.png

How long does it usually take for the guild to level up?
I created 'Carnage' on August 24, 2013 and we reach level 3 by September 24, 2013. One month time frame but take note that due to real life work we only have weekends to play. When you upgrade your guild to level 3, another 200 gp will be added.

r7nz.png

How many parties do you need to boost a level 1 character?
The more the merrier! Party should be composed of 1 knight/lurer, 1 priest, 1 wizard and 1 level one character. It doesn't matter whether the knight, wizard or priest are guildmembers already. Important thing is that the level one character is. It happened to us. We were boosting one character only to find out that the character (already level 28) is not yet guildmember. We do fuse party so its hard to notice. What a waste of time. Sigh.

Some guilds have a couple of members boosting a level 1 character to level up their guild (2-4 level one characters are boosted at the same time.). I suggest this because it saves time and it can make accumulating guildpoints faster. We we're not in a rush so I only have two members of the guild to help me, my girlfriend and my good friend, to make this all done.

Guild points are updated REAL TIME and you can see the exact points when you click your guild in rankings. So if you wanna test something regarding points, don't base on the guild points displayed in rankings, click it first to see the updated one.

I would like to take this chance to thank penzzzz, love you bro! And my bem, AlexiaHailey, don't worry, i love you more than penzzzz!

I hope this information would be useful. Feel free to ask anything, suggest or hate me.
Happy leveling guys!

#17360 What happened to ROVU?

Posted by Sloppy on 01 September 2013 - 01:51 AM

The more I think about this, the less I believe this was caused by a real bug. I think that when they do maintenance, they have switches to switch off the save buttons of the data. So when they start a maintenance in the live environment, they would naturally switch off all the saving buttons of all data, so they can add and/or change the code and test however they want with live data. And when the maintenance is done, switch the save buttons for the data back on, connect ROVU back to the internet and voila.

I am a software developer and I have no fucking idea how they pulled that off. There typically aren't "switches" like that, lol. They probably pushed out the new client and forgot to update their database schema,  and/or forgot to update some server-side code or configurations. It seems like it could read from the database fine (to load your character, and log in) but it was unable to write to the database. So my guess is they updated the client and forgot to update the servers...

any way you look at it... that is really fucking unprofessional and ridiculous. It seems like they are really unable to perform a rollback, probably because...

  • they don't have database backups... which would be hilariously unprofessional
  • they (gravity) don't have access to the database. Neocyon might manage the database and all game updates.
  • They might not be aware of the full extent of the bug.
  • They might not have had time to fix it last week, and just wanted the servers to be running over the weekend, so they didn't fix it..
  • They might not care.

really no one should be playing this game anymore, until they sort this shit out. I'm sorry to say it, but it's true. They have done a horrible job with the game so far, and this most recent fuck up is completely inexcusable. People have put a lot of time and money into playing the game, and when something like this happens it affects everyone and completely ruins the game.

If you want to continue playing this game, I would play on kRO because at least they care about the kRO version. Plus they get all the updates. There might be a translation patch somewhere.
